Raised in Northern California, Jaelei is the middle child between two brothers. She credits her strong personality and fighting spirit to her upbringing, and is proud to have been raised by parents who encouraged her to be outspoken and passionate. Her classic European features come from her grandfather, who is originally from Denmark, while her mother’s Native American heritage adds a unique dimension to her look. Her modeling journey began in middle school, when a teacher took a photo of her for a school project and told her she had what it takes to succeed in the industry—a moment that planted the seed of her fashion aspirations. Near her sixteenth birthday, her mother submitted headshots to an agency. A callback came just a day later, and the two drove to San Francisco to sign with a Los Angeles-based agency. Her first major job was a beauty shoot for Trish McEvoy. Jaelei believes the best is yet to come, and her most recent project was a collaboration with Revive Denim. She especially enjoys working with smaller, independent brands and walking for lesser-known designers. Outside of modeling, she is an avid reader and poet, with hopes of publishing a book someday. She also enjoys snowboarding, hiking, dirt biking, and surfing with her brothers, as well as hosting tea parties and traveling.
